Baseball Prospectus reports that the Astros are nearing a deal for right-handed pitcher Pedro Martinez.  The 36-year-old Martinez pitched for the Dominican Republic during the World Baseball Classic in March and finished 5-6 with a 5.61 ERA last season for the New York Mets.
