Braves, Chipper Agree on Three-Year Extension
Third baseman Chipper Jones signed a three-year extension with Atlanta that includes a fourth-year vesting option worth around $40 million.  Jones, 37, was the overall No. 1 pick in 1990 and has played his entire career with the Braves.

Tigers Trade For Braves' Josh Anderson
Detroit sent right-handed pitcher Rudy Darrow to Atlanta for outfielder Josh Anderson.  Anderson, 26, batted .294 with 3 home runs, 12 runs batted in and 10 stolen bases in 40 games for the Braves last season.  Darrow, 24, is 9-6 with a 2.52 ERA in three Minor League seasons.

Braves May Place Soriano on DL
Atlanta right-handed pitcher Rafael Soriano strained a muscle in his side during Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and could begin the regular season on the disabled list.  "It's very vague right now.  It depends on the severity of the injury. We just don't know yet," General Manager Frank Wren said.

Braves' Kawakami To Miss Start
Atlanta pitcher Kenshin Kawakami will be held out of a scheduled start Thursday night against the Detroit Tigers because of right shoulder fatigue.  Braves manager Bobby Cox didn't think the injury was serious and expects Kawakami to make his next start.

Chipper Pulls Out of WBC
Braves third baseman Chipper Jones will miss the remainder of the World Baseball Classic because of a strained muscle in his right side.  Jones suffered the strain last week and was scratched from Sunday's game against the Netherlands after aggravating the injury.
