Phils Release Jenkins
Philadelphia released veteran outfielder Geoff Jenkins on Tuesday.  Jenkins, 33, signed a two-year, $13 million deal with the Phillies in December 2007.

Phillies Acquire Taschner From Giants
Philadelphia traded catcher Ronny Paulino to San Francisco for lefty reliever Jack Taschner.  Taschner was 3-2 with a 4.88 ERA last season with the Giants.  The Phillies acquired Paulino in a trade from the Pittsburgh Pirates in December.  Paulino batted .212 with 2 home runs and 18 runs batted in last season for the Bucs.

Hamels May Be Ready On April 10
Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee said left-handed ace Cole Hamels will probably start at the Colorado Rockies on April 10.  Hamels has been bothered by an ailing left elbow.

Phillies Scratch Park From Start
Philadelphia right-handed pitcher Chan Ho Park will not make his start Saturday because of a sore left hamstring.  Park's next scheduled start is set for Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Hamels Has Elbow Inflammation
Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels was diagnosed with inflammation in his left elbow, but no structural damage was found.  Hamels received a shot of anti-inflammatory medication and plans to restart his throwing program within two days.
