Baker Out, Liriano In For Twins' Opener
Minnesota announced that pitcher and previously named Opening Day starter Scott Baker will begin the season on the disabled list with stiffness in his right shoulder.  Left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano will start the Twins' opener April 6 against the Seattle Mariners.

Twins' Gomez Out With Bad Back
Minnesota outfielder Carlos Gomez will be sidelined until Friday with a sore back.  Gomez last played on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mauer Doubtful For Opener
Twins catcher Joe Mauer said it is unlikely that he'll be ready to play on Opening Day because of lingering lower back pain.  "I know [Opening Day] is getting closer. I really don't know if I'll be there or not," Mauer said.  There is no timetable for Mauer's return.

Punto To Undergo More X-Rays
Twins shortstop Nick Punto will have more X-rays performed on his right elbow Thursday.  Punto was hit by a pitch during the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday.  X-rays Tuesday came back negative, but Punto experienced more swelling.

Mauer Has Back Inflamation
An MRI on Twins catcher Joe Mauer revealed an inflamed sacroiliac joint at the right side of his lower back.  Minnesota will see how Mauer reacts to stronger medication before he resumes physical activity.
